About PokeTactics — the Pokémon manager roguelike
PokeTactics is a free Pokémon manager roguelike you play in the browser. You do not play a trainer: you run one. You build the roster, raise your facilities, look after the dressing room's mood and pick the route — and every fight is won before it starts: you write the plan and your team executes it on its own. No two Runs are alike.
A Pokémon strategy game you play in the browser
Underneath, PokeTactics is a tactical autobattler: before a fight you see the opposing team in full and decide who faces whom, what each Pokémon holds and what stance the team takes; from there the battle resolves itself, turn by turn, with types, status effects, items and crits. As a Pokémon manager, your job starts long before that: who is fielded, what the gold goes on, and how much risk the next zone is worth.

The manager's job
Every run opens the same way: one Pokémon, a little gold and an empty plot. Everything that happens off the board is your call — and that is where a run is really won or lost.
- Roster: who you catch, who you evolve, which moves and TMs each one learns, and who sits on the bench.
- Facilities: four buildings you raise during the run. The gold never covers them all, so levelling one means giving up another.
- Affinity and morale: every Pokémon has its own trust and its own mood, both moving with what you put it through, and both felt on the field.
- Build: relics, oaths and items that combine with one another. A run isn't won by levels, it's won by the combination.
A journey across Kanto
A Run crosses 25 zones of a condensed Kanto — routes, forests, caves, cities and events — with eight gyms and their badges along the way and the Elite Four waiting at the end. Every leader brings a field hazard of their own, and the difficulty climbs with the map. If the team falls, the Run is over: you start again from scratch, but never from nothing.
What carries over between runs
Outside the run there's an account that grows with you: the Pokédex and the collection, achievements, the season pass, cosmetics, and the Daily and Weekly Challenges, which deal everyone the same seed and have their own ranking. Play a run for its own sake or fight for a place on the board — the progress is the same.
